What should the children wear for Fairy Training?

We provide wings for all of the children to wear and take home, and wands too!! No need to come with these, so it will be a lovely surprise when they get here to find some! :)

Anything else can be worn, so long as they are comfortable dancing and moving up and down stairs between rooms. Shoes must be worn at The Fairy House for safety.

Is there anything special you do for a Birthday?

Our experience makes a lovely Birthday treat or gift for a Birthday!

You can select whether there’s a Birthday visitor upon booking and we will add little Birthday touches to make them feel special including detailing it on the invitations and a badge to wear on the day!

The fairies will sing a special Happy Birthday during the graduation whilst presenting the fairy Training rewards (or crown if you select this option) as the Birthday fairy sits upon our fairy throne!

Please note: In the interest of allergen safety for all visitors and due to our unique set up, we cannot have food or cake served inside The Fairy House.

What is a Fairy Training Experience?

The experience begins with a special parcel in the mail inviting you to become a Fairy in Training. With stories to read, spells to learn and songs to listen to you’ll be well prepared when the day arrives to come to The Fairy House!

After you step through the fairy door you will be given your Fairy Training wings and wands. Then it’s time to journey on an immersive and interactive narrated adventure exploring the house whilst following the little fairies who flicker through the lights! You'll experience storytelling, dancing, finding clues, mixing potions and making crafts with a mission to raise the magic level! As a reward for passing Fairy Training, your magic license will be stamped and you’ll return to the human world with your wings, wands and a gift bag with handmade fairy treasures!

What age can attend The Fairy House?

There is no upper age limit for children attending The Fairy House, just a belief in magic and a love of fairies! We do recommend that our Fairy Training Experience is best for ages 4yrs upwards due to the level of interactivity and its immersive nature. Younger children are most welcome but will need more hands on involvement from their grownup. (We would recommend a smaller family experience to start with for younger children).

Under 1's can accompany free of charge with another paying adult & child however if you would like them to receive the gifts, they will need a place in the booking. They must also be fully supervised at all times, and not crawling for safety.

We adapt the delivery and reveal different layers of our story depending on age or ability. Mixed ages within a group are welcome! Adults are welcome to book themselves as a `Fairy in Training' acknowledging that our stories and activities are primarily designed for children.

We understand that all people are different and that our abilities and interests are not defined by age. Please use this as a rough guide only. If you feel it is the right time to visit, we look forward to welcoming you.

Do adults need to attend?
  • There must be at least one supervising adult present with the group of children at all times. (No sneaking off to the forest!). As rooms are cosy sized we advise only 1 adult per child. We know that grown-ups love a bit of magic too! Adults who stay will journey through the house with the children to watch the activities.
  • A maximum of 7 adults can attend with groups of up to 6 children
  • Adults who stay will kindly be asked not to talk over the experience or the fairy narrating it, they can't perform their magic properly if you do!! We encourage you to take photos and participate by cheering if the children create more magic or do well at a challenge etc or even joining in with them! :)
  • There will be some complimentary Fairy Flower Power tea for grown-ups to help themselves to during their visit and Mermaid Water for everyone.
  • There is a coffee shop over the road for any caffeine seeking giants looking for somewhere close by to wait and also many cafes on Northcotte Road which we run adjacent to!
  • We are a cosy sized Fairy House! To maximise the space for the children we advise that pushchairs are only brought if necessary as there is no separate space to leave them :)

Fairy Tip for group visits! If you're comfortable supervising your group, from experience we recommend that the fewer adults that stay the better the experience will be by far for the little fairies in training. (So long as the child is comfortable being left!). Fairy Training takes place in the form of an immersive and interactive show. There is A LOT of magic to take in and sounds to listen out for around the rooms that drive the story. Chatter in the background means these moments can be missed, or not fully taken in. The children may then become less engaged in the story and overhearing 'human things' being talked about in the same room can really take them out of the fairytale world they've just been immersed into. We have what we believe is a truly unique experience which we created for you. We want it to be as every bit as special and magical as it should be for your little fairies in training and for you :

Do we need to bring anything?

Just something to take photos with! Please feel free to take as many photos and videos as you would like of your little fairies in training in action. We will set up some group shots for you at the end of the children's adventure. This is all you need to bring! We have created lots of lovely things for the children to take away at the end of their Visit: wings, handmade wands, theri craft and a Fairy House gift bag with a lovely hand created gift.

Can we add more children to our booking?

Fairy Training Experiences are strictly for a maximum of 6 children in total. We can not change this number as our policy must remain the same and fair to everyone who books with us. Please do not over invite as we can not accommodate more into the visit. Babies are not counted in the 6 but will need to be carried and not crawling for safety.

Fairy Training has been created this way for the most personal and special experience we can magic up for you!

Is The Fairy House wheelchair and pushchair accessible?

Due to the layout of our Victorian building, each room is divided by stairs and is not accessible to wheelchairs or pushchairs. Only the shop at ground level is accessible but still has a raised door step inside and a single door. There is not a wheelchair accessible bathroom.

If you are in need of an accessible experience, please contact us before booking.

What if we have the cancel our visit?

Please see our full cancellation policy here.

Please note: This experience features music, immersive sound and lighting of a flashing nature. (Not strobe).
